Slots mechanics

The technology of slot machines has changed over the years. Today
the original mechanisms of the first machines have been almost completely replaced by computerized machines. Despite this, playing slots is still almost the same, the player pulls a lever that rotates a series of reels (usually three) that have pictures printed on them. It is these images that determine when you win or you lose, if three identical images are aligned in the line of play or pay line, a strip that is at the center of the machine.

Winning combinations are many, because not only can gain achieving a combination of three identical images on the winning line, but occasionally a single image can be a winner, however, winning or losing is determined only by the images that appear on the pay line.

When the lever of a slot machine is activated, it triggers a series of events.

The slot machine works on a classic design that will trigger a series of gears and levers. Before anything, a coin detector records that a valid coin is being introduced and releases the lock on the machine.

The centerpiece is a metal shaft that supports the reels. This axis is directly connected to the external lever mechanism which is, after all, what makes the whole mechanism to work. The reels are stopped by a brake mechanism and the outcome of the bet is communicated by means of sensors that determine whether it was a game-winning or not.

From the player standpoint, everything looks differently. First, he pulls the lever, there is a sound and the three reels start spinning. Then, abruptly, the reels stop, and if a lucky player, you will deliver profits. The way in which the reels stop one by one and slowly, creating an atmosphere of suspense.

For example, it may be the case that the first reel stops on a symbol of a jackpot, and then wait patiently for the other two to be stopping slowly, wishing all the same winning symbol appears the first reel.

The conventional mechanisms of the slot machines gave way to electrical work on similar principles. Electrical machines follow the same principle, but the reels are powered by motors and solenoids used mechanisms to stop them.

What has changed a bit, is that their processes for managing money are more sophisticated and use more colors and sounds.
